Founded in 1861 Sale Sharks are one of the oldest clubs in English rugby. The Sharks moved to the brand new Salford City Stadium for the 2012/13 season, sharing the ground with the Salford City Reds rugby league team. The 2005/06 Premiership Champions also won the European Challenge Cup in 2002 and 2005. More recently, Sale Sharks managed to qualify for the inaugural European Rugby Champions Cup and will look to keep improving there. The ‘13/14 season was so good, six Sharks players were called up for the England Squad for the summer tour in 2014.
Barrie-Jon Mather, Jason Robinson, Sebastien Chabal and Luke McAlister are amongst those to have worn the Sale Sharks jersey throughout the years.
