Formed in 1885, Connacht are one of four professional teams from Ireland.
Although they are the smallest of the four due to a lower rugby playing population their passionate play overcomes this, as results over the years have proven.
A highlight of Connacht’s recent European rugby would be their unexpected victory over Harlequins in the Heineken Cup in 2011.
Playing at Galway Sportsgrounds, Connacht competes in the Pro12 League and the European Challenge Cup. Famous players to have worn the proud Jersey now and in the past include Michael Swift with over 250 caps for the club, Mils Muliaina and British and Irish Lion John O'Driscoll.
