Biography
After making his Wales debut in 2002 against Romania Jenkins has never looked back.
A mainstay in Wales 2003 Rugby World Cup Campaign he played every game. He continued to impress the national coaches with his versatility in the 2004 Six Nations where he played both loose and tight head prop. He went on to play all of Wales preceding autumn tests that same year.
2005 saw Jenkins reach the form that would earn him a call up for the 2005 British & Irish Lions Tour of New Zealand. Starting every game for Wales as they ran riot to clinch the Grand Slam. Jenkins scored the first try against an Irish side looking to scupper Wales Grand Slam hopes.
A drop in from and injury dashed his season in 2005/06 however the next season saw him returning to his best. He again played in all of Wales autumn internationals in 2006. In 2007 he went on to play in four of Wales Six Nations games and won a place in his second Rugby World Cup Squad in 2007.
After two appearances as a replacement he started three of the matches and helped guide Wales to a second Grand Slam in 2008. This form has continued for Jenkins and he capped another strong Six Nations campaign by being selected in the British & Irish Squad for the forthcoming tour of South Africa.
