Calcutta 1879 Collection

In 1879 the RFU was presented with an Indian silver cup donated by Calcutta Rugby Football Club to be used to promote the game of Rugby Football.

The cup was made from melted down silver, being the balance of club funds, and has been contested ever since by England and Scotland. This fixture known simply as the ‘Calcutta Cup’ is probably the most famous international and the cup itself is the oldest trophy contested in Rugby Union.

To celebrate this momentous part of our rugby heritage we have brought together a collection of classic rugby shirts, hoodies, polo shirts and T-shirts.
